When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
Children's Ministry
Our children’s ministry is divided into 2 classes, the first being our crèche that is for children from 12 months to 5 years. The Church is a place for people of all ages, the main service does not really cater for small children. Our crèche is designed to be a place for children to come and play together, we read them bible stories, teach them songs and give them time to play with toys or even take a nap.
Our second group is the 6 to 10 year olds our main focus for this group is expanding on the word they learned when they were younger and introducing them to new areas of the word so as they grow they are building on a solid foundation.
Here at CALM we believe that these are crucial stages in a child’s life like the scripture says in Proverbs 22:6 ‘Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.’ So bring your children along to our Sunday school and crèche.
Youth Ministry
Our youth group is tailored for 11-16 years olds. Children of this age face a lot of peer pressure and our desire is not for them to ignore it but to equip them with the tools they need in order for them to overcome the challenges they face in society.
Our youth members are taught biblical principles and how to conduct themselves as young people we hope to see them grow and become leaders amongst their peers and not followers. This Ministry is founded on the scripture which says “train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22: 6). This ministry aims to prepare our youth as their awareness of the world increases, and in a time when they are more susceptible to peer pressure and the wrong kind of influence
We also engage in leisure activities throughout the year such as Youth Camp, basketball, football and bowling and many other activities.
So come and join us we welcome all new members to apart of our group.
Couples’ Fellowship
The main aim of this ministry is to have an understanding of God’s mind regarding marriage and to practically walk in that understanding and also to enjoy to the maximum the benefits of marriage as laid out by the scriptures. We have seen restorations of broken marriages through this ministry both within and outside of the Church, reconciliations of parents to children and vise versa.
Men’s Ministry
The focus of the men’s ministry is to give men the guidance and help they need in order to become what God has called them to be as men in the Church the home and at work.
The men’s ministry brings men together, married and single, to share the word and build each other up spiritually.
We seek to empower the men in our ministry to be good fathers, husbands and sons in a society that tells teaches them otherwise. We believe that it is important that men understand that Church is not just for their wives and mothers but that God has called them too to be a part of the body of Christ.
Women’s Ministry
The purpose of the women’s ministry is to act as a support system for all women in the church and create a warm welcoming environment where they feel free to come and fellowship with other women in the Church.
In the women’s ministry we feel that it is paramount that women find their place in Gods house and play a part in what goes on. We are here to help all women to become better wives, mothers, sisters and daughters. This ministry also aims to develop Proverbs 31 woman It is important that women know their worth and that they are empowered to do the work that God has sent them to do in His house and as individuals.
Music Department
The bible says, Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise
Worship is an essential part of the Christian Faith and one of the ways in which we love to worship God is through music. The music department is filled with dedicated members who are passionate about singing praises and worshipping God with the beautiful voices and instruments that God has given them.
Being a part of this department requires dedication, commitment and love for music.
The choir meets regularly to practice and learn Gospel songs that they come and minister together with the band to congregations to encourage them in their walk with Christ and lift up the name of the Lord.
The Music department is always growing and welcomes new members.
Intercessors Ministry
(PUSH MINISTRY – Praying Until Something Happens)
We are popularly referred to as PUSH Ministry. Intercession is about praying on the behalf of others.
Members of this department set aside time to pray and fast together taking all issues and burdens they may have before God.
The prayer team encourages everyone in the church to pray together for issues they may be facing personally and issues that are present in our society. The bible says in Ephesians 6:17-18
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints…”
Come and join our prayer team, all are welcome. We meet once every week for 3 hours or more for fervent sessions of efficacious intercession.
Ushering Department
This department is made up of a dedicated team of people who are passionate about the smooth running of church activities, and are responsible for making sure everything is done in orderly and effective manner.
Being in the Ushering department is a big responsibility, as they are the first point of contact for the congregation, or members of the community visiting the church. Therefore it is important for members to first of all be mature Christians who are developed/ing their spiritual lives, be approachable, punctual and committed to their role within the church.
Evangelism/Outreach
The word of God clearly tells us in Matthew 16:15 that we should “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”.
This scripture is the foundation that this ministry is built upon. Evangelism alongside prayer and reading the word are the key responsibilities in every believer’s life. Members of this ministry are dedicated to reaching out to unbelievers in a caring and compassionate way and telling them of God’s unfailing love.
Our outreach activities covers organised concerts, workshops, counselling etc
We do this by speaking to people on the streets, visiting people in their homes and organising various outreach events that are open to all people. We also minister to people the way we live our lives.
International Missions Dept
Apart from the fact that we a family-based Church, we are also mission-minded Church.
We have taken the Gospel through our Missions Department to different parts of Africa, Asia and America. We believe in taking the gospel especially to places where the WORD of God has not been preached or where there are not too much impact of the gospel and eventually raise second-generation Missionaries who can continue with the work. CALM has also been able to raise quite a lot of Missionaries who are presently spread all over the nations of the world.
